In November 2016, Austinites approved $720 million for local, corridor, and regional mobility improvements.
The largest portion is for the Corridor Mobility Program – with the goal of improving safety, mobility, and connectivity for everyone, whether you walk, drive, bike or taketransit.
Corridors that may receive construction funding from the 2016 Mobility Bond include: sections of North Lamar Boulevard., Burnet Road, Airport Boulevard, East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard/FM 969, South Lamar Boulevard, East Riverside Drive, Guadalupe Street, William Cannon Drive, and Slaughter Lane.
In the coming months, recommendations from Corridor Mobility Plans will be presented to City Council for inclusion in a proposed Corridor Construction Program, and construction could be underway by late 2018.
